One from a series of thirteen miniature circular prints originally contained within a medal-shaped bronze container decorated with a portrait of Wellington on the obverse and History on the reverse.
A depiction of Sir Arthur Wellesley's attack on the fortified city of Oporto on 12 June 1809. In wine barges provided by the locals he landed red-coats. Despite overwhelming odds it was successful and led to the surrender of French troops under the command of Marshal Soult garrisoned there.
