Ship Lying in Ordinary at Chatham
Anonymous, uncoloured lithograph on stone. Published circa 1830-40.
Size of paper: 3 1/8" x 6 3/4".
Generally good condition throughout. Some age staining. At some point during the nineteenth century this print has been pasted into a scrapbook and the corners have been cut off. This loss does not affect the image and is hidden by judicious mounting.
A subtly executed miniature lithograph of a hulk lying in ordinary. The covered slipways in the dockyard in the background suggest the location is Chatham.
£55.00 mounted, unframed.
