A Perspective View of the River Thames &c taken from the Kings Arms at Blackwall
Anonymous copper engraving, published in the London Magazine, March 1782.
Image size: 5 3/4" x 10 5/8", plus title and margins.
Very good condition throughout, some light offsetting, original vertical fold as issued.
An unusual view showing Shooters Hill, Woolwich and ships on the stocks East India Dock Yard. The depiction of the gibbet on the Isle of Dogs is an especially gruesome detail. The Kings Arms was one of a number of inns on the riverfront at Blackwall, the majority of which were demolished for the construction of the Blackwall Tunnel.
£50.00 unmounted, unframed.
