Weller Greenwich
Greenwich &c.
Lithograph with later hand colour drawn and engraved by Edward Weller F.R.G.S. as Suburbs of London, Sheet 2, for the Weekly Dispatch, 139 Fleet Street. Published by Edward Weller, 34 Red Lion Square. Undated, but circa 1860.
Image size: 17" x 12", plus margins.
Extent: Isle of Dogs: Woolwich Road: Blackheath: Lewisham.
Scale: 9" = 1 mile
Generally good condition. The colour has been added at a later date to original publication, but is expertly executed and sympathetic to the period. Mounted and framed.
A very clear, concise and attractive map of Greenwich and its immediate environs. It clearly shows the Park, the Royal Hospital and town centre as well as Blackheath to the south. Streets are clearly named, so too, schools churces and public houses. See also, 'Weller's Greenwich' on our Blog.
