Bacon's New Large Scale Map of Greenwich and Deptford

This map, on a scale of nine inches to the mile, shows a well-populated community around the River Thames and Deptford Creek with Greenwich only just embarking on its enroachment eastwards. Woodlands House stands in splendid isolation in West Combe Park and the pre-industrial Greenwich Marshes on the peninsula are almost entirely empty, whilst Morden College is decidely separated from Blackheath Village. The intended Thames subway at Depford Dockyard is a tantalising hint of an unrealised project.
£10.00 unmounted/unframed - plus P&P if not collected in person.
