Plan of Brighton
In Quarter-Mile Squares, Reduced from the Ordnance Survey.
Lithograph with original stencil hand colour published by G.W. Bacon, 1910.
Image size: 12" x 19" plus margins. The West Pier and the Marine Palace and Pier both break throught the border well into the margins.
Excellent condition throughout. Original vertical fold, as issued.
A highly attractive plan of "The Queen of Watering Places" with fresh bright colour pleasingly arranged to denote the parks, gardens and squares. Unlike the plan of respectable Eastbourne from the same series, here there is no attempt at segregating the sexes for sea bathing, thereby allowing Brighton's raffish reputation to remain in tact.
£95.00 unmounted, unframed
