Tin Globe

A toy globe of pressed tin. 'British Made', probably dating from the 1930s.

Height: 8", diameter of base: 4 1/2"

Generally very good condition throughout, minor wear as expected.

The majority of twentieth century toy globes were made by Chad Valley, but this untypically elegant example, printed in subtle colours, is by an unknown manufacturer.

The omission of Pakistan and Israel indicate that this globe was made before 1948, whilst the presence of the Belgian Congo, Dutch East Indies and French Indo China add a distinctly colonial flavour to this period piece.
